LUS 2022 Updates

We’re proud to announce that we are back for 2022!

LUS will be running in a virtual format this year, with student games being hosted on itch.io.

AMD and Backtrace are this year’s sponsors, and will be joining us to provide feedback for student games.

This is an exciting opportunity to check out what your peers are up to and to get excited for Level Up!

Level Up Showcase 2020 Cancelled!

We deeply regret to inform everyone that due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19 Level Up Showcase 2020 has been cancelled. We sincerely apologize to all involved, this is disappointing news for those of us organizing, schools and students alike. We thank you for your support!

Level Up 2019!

The Level Up Showcase is back for it’s 9th year in a row and we cannot be more excited. It will be on April 17th at the Design Exchange in Toronto at 4:00 PM.

Tickets are still FREE but this year is a little bit different. We will be having different time slots to make sure everyone has an equal chance to check out the awesome games. The 3 time slots are:

Slot 1: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Slot 2: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Slot 3: 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM

There are only 700 tickets available per time slot so be sure to check out our Eventbrite page and register! Tickets will become available Monday, March 18th at 10:00 AM.

Student Submission Guidelines 2022

We are excited to see you at Level Up this year!

Our registration will be opening up here shortly, so be sure to check back for updates.

Note that only students from participating institutions are eligible to apply to show their game at the showcase.

We only require one member to register per team. If you have any questions you can e-mail us at info@xpsummit.ca (please include LUS or Level Up Showcase in your subject line), or through our Contact Us, Facebook or Twitter pages.

Important Dates:

Registration opens for teams – March 18th

Deadline for submitting sizzle reel footage – 12:00 PM ET, April 3rd

  • submissions received after the deadline are not guaranteed to make it into the reel
  • please ensure that videos are 60FPS, 1080p, and under 30 seconds
  • host the video on Google Drive and ensure sharing is set to “Anyone with the link can view”
  • .MP4, .MOV, and .AVI files are accepted – the file size limit is 2GB

Submission deadline (webpage finalized, games uploaded to itch.io) – 12:00 PM ET, April 5th

  • submissions received after the deadline are not guaranteed to receive a review

About itch.io:

Student games will be hosted on itch.io this year, as Level Up Showcase will be fully virtual.
